EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH ERICA FERNANDES

1. From Tv To Films how was experience so far?

The experience was fresh for me because it is a new kind of genre
I am exploring. Having said that,
it feels like there’s more to me than the person, who was only doing so much work before.
It shows a different side of me to other people as well.
People who have seen me in certain roles,
they will now know that there is more to me.

2. What is your experience of being a part of a horror genre?
It was exciting, more than challenging, It gave me an adrenaline rush.
I was very very excited ever since I was offered this because it is also based on true incidents.
I wanted to do my best and give all kinds of variations.

3. Are you scared of Ghosts?

Not scared and if such a situation occurs, I would like to see what happens.
I used to be scared of ghosts as a kid but not now.
I watch horror movies with eyes open, but the slash thrillers,
where you see someone chopping bodies and all, there I close my eyes.

4. What your vibe right now ?

Right now, I am in a very chilled out space.

5. Being a public figure, audience is used to seeing you in a certain way. Are you conscious about how you look?

I am very comfortable the way I look.
I would like people to see me the way I am and not judge me on the basis of the characters I play on-screen.
Thanks to social media, we can show people who we really are.
I may wear salwar suits and saris on screen,
but in real life I may not be wearing them on daily basis.
People need to know me as Erica. Social media plays a very important role in this.
Actors are often stuck in the reel looks and people tend to see them like that.
I do love to wear traditional and Indian clothes, but that’s not me.
But I have grown up wearing jeans, tops, shorts – in casual looks.
I don’t want people to see me in a made-up look.
